New Tonsuke

New Tonsuke is a Japanese-style Western restaurant in Osaka, an 8- to 10-minute walk from Kitakagaya Station. It serves tonkatsu and hamburg steak, along with thick cutlets, plump fried shrimp, and a garlicky potage soup, and the tonkatsu is topped with a garlic sauce. The shop has only 11 counter seats, so the cooking can be watched up close. It is a popular spot, and the wait for a meal can run from 20 minutes to nearly an hour.
