Wat Benchamabophit in Bangkok is a European-style Buddhist temple built from Italian marble. It was completed in 1899 on the order of King Rama V and shows Thai architecture alongside European styles. Inside the temple are a golden Buddha image and displays of Buddha image styles from several countries, and benches sit beside a small canal. The temple is small in scale, and the upkeep of the surrounding waterways is lacking.
