Boryeong Coal Museum in Boryeong covers the formation and use of coal and the lives of miners through hands-on exhibits. On the first floor, visitors try on coal mining equipment, helmets, and uniforms, and on the second floor they use screens for an interactive coal-digging experience. Opened in 1995, it is the first coal museum in the country, and its underground replica shaft includes a virtual elevator ride down a 400-meter vertical shaft. The exhibition space is not large.
