Kyoyuk Tap is a monument in Osaka Castle Park honoring victims of the 1934 Muroto typhoon. It was built in 1936 for the teachers, children, and students who died in the storm, and in 1995 victims of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake were also commemorated there. The tower can be seen from the Osaka Museum of History, and to its east a stream is preserved as a biotope that draws visitors with children in warm months. In December ginkgo leaves turn yellow and cover the ground.
