The National Gongju Museum displays Baekje artifacts and prehistoric relics from the Chungcheongnam-do region, and it sits near the Gongju historical tourism complex. Its exhibits center on items excavated from the Tomb of King Muryeong, including the stone epitaph plaque, gold crown ornaments, and gilt-bronze shoes. Admission and parking are free, and the children's museum is entered through on-site reservations made in 30-minute units. A long walkway connects the parking lot to the main building, which makes moving around difficult on hot days.
