A statue near Namsan Park in Seoul honors Yu Gwan-sun, who led the 1919 independence demonstrations in Seoul and Cheonan. The statue shows her calling for independence toward the Silla Hotel Yeongbingwan, which stands on the site of Bakmunsa, built to commemorate Ito Hirobumi. The site presents the history of the nonviolent demonstrations against injustice. Its location is out of the way, which makes access inconvenient.
