Kubutaya is a restaurant in Seoul that serves deep-fried rice bowls and Japanese set meals, located a seven-minute walk from Exit 3 of Yaksu Station. The special taré katsu set meal tops sirloin and tenderloin cutlets with fried shrimp, eggplant, broccoli, and kabocha, and serves taré sauce soaked into the rice. On weekdays the restaurant fills up about 20 minutes after opening, and the udon comes with chewy noodles and a light broth for dipping in egg yolk. The cutlets have a soft texture rather than the crispness of Japanese tonkatsu.
