Shin-Umeda Shokudogai is a food alley in the underground shopping arcade next to Umeda subway station, and it draws a mostly local crowd. People pick takoyaki or okonomiyaki to eat standing, or move from one shop to the next with beer. Okonomiyaki Sakura develops a wait that can run to an hour. The space is cramped, which makes it a hard place to stop and rest.
