The Versailles Gardens are a French-style garden attraction attached to the Palace of Versailles in Paris. Andre Le Notre designed them, with construction beginning in 1661, and they consist of symmetrical walkways, fountains, and canals. An artificial lake is visible from the central plaza, the walk to the lakeside takes about 30 minutes on foot, and maps, cafes, and restrooms are at the entrance. The gardens are so large that walking to the end makes your legs ache, and bicycles, electric carts, or a mini train are needed.
