Inari Kio Shrine sits in the middle of Kabukicho in Shinjuku, Tokyo, about a five-minute walk from Higashi-Shinjuku Station. The grounds stay quiet despite the surrounding noise of Kabukicho, and at night the city lights and the stillness appear together. The shrine enshrines the deity Inari and oni, and within the grounds are Ebisu Shrine and Fujizuka, along with a coin-slot cave and a water jar on the Ebisu Shrine side. The washing area is on the Ebisu Shrine side and is hard to find around the main hall.
