Namdaemun

Nandaimon is the main gate of Shitennoji in Osaka, and it is the first entrance reached on foot from the north exit of Tennoji Station. Inside the gate is the Kumano Gongen worship stone, where Kumano pilgrims once prayed for safe travel, and the road facing south in front of it was the Koshin Highway. The current building was rebuilt in 1985 and leads directly into the Shitennoji precincts. A paid parking lot is near the gate, making the walk from the lot to the main gate easy.
