The Former Osaka Arsenal Chemical Analysis Laboratory is a two-story red-brick military factory building from 1919, located outside the north outer moat of Osaka Castle Park. New weapons were developed and chemical experiments were conducted there, and the Osaka Arsenal was the largest military factory in Asia, producing cannons and shells. The site is now surrounded by a fence and closed to entry, and it was used as the Osaka Regional Liaison Office of the Self-Defense Forces until 1998. Trees, weeds, and vines cover the building, increasingly obscuring its exterior.
